Ready to Fry - A Culinary Tribute to B.I.G.

Throw your hands in the air if you's a true player! Today marks the 22nd anniversary of the release of Biggie’s debut studio album, the first and only album during his lifetime, Ready to Die. The Notorious B.I.G. is also a notorious hip hop foodie, as he often made references to food in his rhymes. The rawness and realness of Biggie in this album makes it no surprise for it to be regarded by many as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. From listening to Ready to Die, we can hear the story of his experiences and see that Biggie is ready to leave his old life of being a young criminal behind him.

Since we are paying tribute to Biggie Smalls, we have an important question to pose: what would Biggie eat? We pulled a couple lyrics from his album that provide the perfect answer.

“Now honeys play me close like butter play toast.”

“So we can steam on the way to the telly, go fill my belly/

A T-bone steak, cheese eggs and Welch's grape"

From these lyrics we have a put together a delicious recipe for you to brunch like Biggie. Enjoy!
